There are many inevitable defects as a result of manual welding, including cracks, incomplete penetration, and low efficiency of CIP/SIP. These defects can affect the sanitary performance of the finished product. Therefore, the American Welding Society requires that sanitary stainless steel should be welded by automated equipment.
